11km Airlie Beach to Shute Harbour For one of the best views of Airlie Beach at sunset, take the Mandalay Road turn off from Shute Harbour Road, just past Jubilee Pocket as you head towards Shute Harbour. Closer to Shute Harbour are well signposted bush walks easily accessible from Shute Harbour Road. Lions Lookout, above Shute Harbour, boasts a panorama of the Whitsunday islands including the distant promise of Hamilton Island.
35km Airlie Beach to Conway Beach On the road to Proserpine, turn onto Conway Road and follow the signs to Cedar Creek Falls. The falls and the cool freshwater pool are spectacular in the wet season, but are always worth a visit and a quick clamber over the rocks. Travel on to Conway and Wilson (good boat ramp) Beaches for great fishing or the postcard perfect park on the beach at Conway.
